By now, you have probably noticed the roadwork on MD 198 near Peach Orchard Road.
Perhaps you have been stuck in the 20-minute traffic jams during their nightly roadwork. Well, cheer up, because 198 will be fully repaved from Peach Orchard Road to the US 29 north ramp in Burtonsville--all 2.2 miles!
Below is the latest update from the State Highway Administration, the agency responsible for maintenance of MD 198 and most other numbered highways in Maryland:
"Thank you for contacting the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) about the resurfacing project on MD 198 from Peach Orchard Rd to US 29 NB Ramp. All of the patching has been completed and the milling of the roadway should be completed by September 29th. Once the milling is completed the paving work will begin and it will take 2 weeks to complete.
